SKILLS OF A MILITARY PSYCHOLOGIST IN MODERN WARFARE
Abstract
Modern warfare has undergone significant transformation due to technological advancements, hybrid conflicts, cyber operations, information warfare, and prolonged deployments in complex operational environments. These changes have expanded the responsibilities of military psychologists beyond traditional clinical support. Military psychologists now play a critical role in personnel selection, resilience training, operational readiness, crisis intervention, leadership development, and rehabilitation of psychological trauma. The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the essential skills required of military psychologists in contemporary military operations. The article highlights the increasing importance of psychological services in modern defense systems and provides recommendations for professional development in military psychology.
