HOW PROJECT-BASED LEARNING HELPS STUDENTS BUILD CONNECTIONS AND DEVELOP LANGUAGE NATURALLY

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PBL) has become an important approach in modern language education, as it shifts the focus from traditional memorisation to active communication and collaboration. This paper examines how PBL helps students build social and cognitive connections while developing language skills in a natural and meaningful way. Based on existing research, it is argued that PBL improves language acquisition by engaging learners in authentic tasks, encouraging interaction, and increasing motivation. Through group projects and real-world activities, students use language as a practical tool, which supports deeper understanding and better retention.
