OCCASIONAL TRANSFORMATION PHENOMENON AND ITS EXPRESSIONS IN PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of occasional transformation in phraseological units in English and Uzbek languages. Phraseological units are usually considered stable and fixed expressions, but in real communication they often undergo changes depending on context, speaker intention, and stylistic needs. The paper examines the main types of occasional transformations such as substitution, addition, omission, and structural modification.

The research is based on comparative and descriptive methods. The analysis shows that both English and Uzbek languages actively use occasional transformations, although the degree and form of flexibility differ. These transformations serve expressive, stylistic, and pragmatic functions and reflect the creative potential of speakers.

The study highlights that occasional transformation is an important linguistic phenomenon that demonstrates the dynamic nature of language. It also has practical importance in translation and language teaching.
