Abstract

musical exchange between Eastern and Western cultures has a long history, and in choral art, this integration also manifested itself in various forms. While Eastern music was based on distinctive traditional melodies, Western music relied more on a polyphonic system. Eastern and Western choral art have interacted throughout the historical process. While Western music have acquired rhythmic and melodic characteristics from the East, Eastern choral art is using techniques of Western academic polyphony. Today, this integration is intensifying, and new creative syntheses are emerging.
